OUR STORY

We are a 2nd Generation Family Run Pre-school

Our setting is unique. In 1975 the Pre-school opened in Mrs Clark’s living room with a handful of children, gradually over the years the school expanded and moved in to purpose built premises.

Dinton pre-school was established in 1975 and was initially run in one room in the farm house. As the years progressed, we converted redundant farm buildings to create a purpose built pre-school with three lovely classrooms providing learning opportunities for different aged children which allows for their progression in all areas of learning before starting primary school. We are also very fortunate to have several different outdoor areas which provide a huge variety of different fun learning experiences to enhance the children’s development and inspire their desire to learn, as well as our fields and pond where  forest school sessions take place and fun activities such as pond dipping, den building and learning  all about nature.  All set in the beautiful Wiltshire country side and located next to the National Trust parkland which we also use (when the cows are not there!)

ABOUT OUR SETTING

We ensure that all children thrive in the welcoming, nurturing and homely environment and our intent is that all children become happy, independent, caring, confident and keen communicators who develop a can-do attitude, we want the children at our Pre-school to see the wonder of the world through hands on experiences and to be adventurers and investigators. We provide outdoor learning opportunities to support children’s well-being, encourage risk taking and develop curiosity. We use real tools and open-ended resources to develop children’s independence, self-confidence and creativity.

We believe that the importance of getting young children off to a good start in life cannot be overstated. Children will learn if they are having fun and will make good progress by learning through their play, with the support of our experienced, caring practitioners. The Pre-School continues to grow and flourish, but we pride ourselves in knowing each individual child and their family, all staff, parents, children and siblings enjoy this friendship and security.

We have a wonderful team of experienced, qualified and paediatric first aid trained staff. Who will build strong and secure attachments to their key children and their families.

We continuously reflect on our setting and make improvements where needed. We use the the Bristol Standards Quality Assurance program to do this and it allows the whole team to reflect on how we may improve the setting with each submission and develop our practice.
